Hayward Baker, Inc., a Keller company, is one of the World’s leading Specialty Contractors and has offices throughout the United States. Hayward Baker’s Geotechnical and Deep Foundation Specialty Construction Work generally involves short duration projects with difficult soil problems. These can be Design Build or Plans and Specs Projects within our areas of expertise, and include site improvement, foundation rehabilitation, ground water control, and settlement control.
We currently have two Design Engineer positions available for a motivated candidate to be based out of our office located in the Tampa, FL area and the Baltimore, MD area office.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing state-of-the- practice engineering analysis and designs for a variety of geotechnical construction applications. The Design Engineer will be responsible for working with senior design engineers to produce construction drawings and design calculations for a wide range of earth retention, structural underpinning and ground modification projects. Typical projects include ground improvement for embankment and structural support, slope stabilization and landslide repair, ground improvement to reduce settlement and/or increase bearing capacity, shallow and deep foundation systems, and a wide variety of other unique and challenging projects. Since Hayward Baker will be building these designs, you will also provide quality assurance over the verification and quality control aspects of the work.
Qualified candidates should have Bachelor Degree in Design Engineering with a Geotechnical or Civil Engineering Degree with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering. Prefer experience with Geotechnical or Civil Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with a P.E. license. Other requirements include a solid understanding of geotechnical engineering. Excellent computer skills are required (geotechnical software, Excel, Word, Mathcad, and AutoCAD). Some travel is required, and opportunities for additional training and professional development will be provided.
